Credit for Existing Courses: Instructions |
- Consult with the GE Area
Chair.
- Fill out the course description form.
You
can visit the Course
Description Form on the Curriculum Development
web page. You will be able to go to each section of
the Course Description Form for definitions and for help
in filling out the form. At the same site, you
will also find a Course Description Form you can DOWNLOAD.
- Refer to the GE Syllabus
Guidelines
and address the GE Educational Objectives and Criteria in
the Course Description form; in particular, Section III.
Syllabus (learning outcomes, course content and assessment
methods).
- Send one electronic copy of the entire form to gened@polymail.calpoly.edu.
Send one signed hard copy of the entire
form to General Education Program, Building 43-1, Academic
Annex.
Existing
courses follow the same deadlines as experimental
or catalog courses.
If an existing course
has substantial changes,
it must be submitted with a new
course number.
