1. What changes can be made via Continuous Course Review?

A proposal for a modified or new course can be made via Continuous Course Review, UNLESS it would
a) affect a program in another department (an exception may be made provided that a memo of agreement is supplied), or
b) create a new course requirement for students on current or prior catalogs (an exception may be made if the new course is offered as an alternative to a current course requirement and is the same or fewer units), or
c) they would result in an increase in units in a required course.
d) If any of the above is applicable, changes need to be requested during a Catalog Review cycle.
Note: proposals MUST be received by dates below to be considered for that term, otherwise the course will be considered for the next term.

GE Continuous Course Review Deadlines
CONSULT with both your Department Chair and the appropriate GE Area Chair in the initial planning stages. The Department Chair and the Dean/Associate Dean must support your GE course proposal.
The GE Area Chair will provide you with assistance on how to meet the the specific GE Educational Objectives and Criteria. Please allow plenty of time to develop your course. Phone calls, e-mail exchanges and personal meetings may be necessary to resolve questions and concerns.
AREA A/C : Arts and Humanities (Chair- Kathryn Rummell)
AREA B/F: Science, Math, and Technology (Chair- Matt Moelter)
AREA D: Society and the Individual (Chair- Andrew Morris)
1. Fill out the Course Proposal Form or the Course Modification form and submit electronically to the GE office. (mtool@calpoly.edu).
2. Your Department Chair and the Dean/Associate Dean need to send an email of endorsement to the GE office (mtool@calpoly.edu).
