Information from the AAC& U Conference
- Discussion on how colleges are redoing their GE Programs and looking at "integrative learning opportunities."
- Discussion on how to reinforce the value of General Education and how to integrate different the modes of delivery in the classroom
- Discussion on the goal of making GE and the majors equal partners in the curriculum
Committee Discussion on Cal Poly Issues that affect GE curriculum
- The use of technology in PolyLearn
- How can we benefit from an "outcome based" curriculum: What do we want our students to walk away with?
- How could we benefit on an e-portfolio system? Does Moodle have these capabilities?
- Comments on other university systems like Cal State San Franciso - usually the e-portfolio starts out with a class or a program, not integrated universally at the start
- How could team-taught courses be implemented?
- How could themed areas be implemented?
