Announcements

  • Introductions - New members: Brenda Helmbrecht (CLA) and Rachel Kramer (ASI)
  • Fall charge for committee - Review all GE course proposals before Thanksgiving (by college).
  • Update on GE/University assessment
    • A five-year plan has been presented to the Provost. The plan falls in line with the WASC core competencies.
    • A Cal Poly team will be attending the WASC Retreat on Core Competencies: Critical Thinking and Information Literacy - October 11-12 in Anaheim, CA.

  • The GE Chair sends a follow-up memo to each course proposer with a full explanation of the decision, addressing specific issues regarding GE objectives and criteria.
