Review/Discussion of CRP 325 Biking, Walking & the City - GE D4
- There is currently a non-GE CRP 425 level course with the same title, and same course outline, recommendation to change title of course to prevent confusion for students
- Discussion on need for prerequisite of statistics, possible need for data analysis in week six, data collection
- Will the course be taught in same classroom?
- AG 350/AG 450 similar situation - created problems for students
was resolved to use new course number - AG 360 - used different course content - CRP was also proposed in 2014; recommendation to go back to original memo sent by GEGB chair to see if any changes have been made in course proposal
Review of SS 111 Soils in Environmental and Agricultural Systems - B5

Recommendation to articulate the difference between SS 121: Introductory Soil Science (more chemistry based) and SS 111 in the course proposal. The audience for course should be clearer.
- Course was proposed in 2014, recommendation to refer to previous memo, how sent out by GEGB chair and see how items were addressed in new proposal
Can talk about addressing action items....

GE Self Study Comments
- Background - GEGB comments from last year were incorporated into the self-study.
- GEGB needs to correct language on page 5 for B5 to be similar to C5.
- The document is very readable, clear, and concise.
- Page 47 - Lifelong Learning, was this 2012 survey administered? (page 52) Figures are not clear. (Check with Library on Lifelong Learning Assessment)
- Question on Critical Thinking information regarding results, meeting with Beth Chance should clarify data, will incorporate into self study.
- Academic Senate GE Task Force Two Report - talked about writing-intensive courses- Send electronic report to Brenda.
- We need to discuss the writing-intensive guidelines at a future meeting.
- There is reference to a recommendation for additional assigned time for GE Chair in GE self-study. The - Pre-Academic Senate GE model was a different structure with a GE Director vs. Chair. The release time and duties were modified.
- Transfer data issue- Helen collected data - How many students are taking GE lower-division classes at community college? This could fit in GE enrollment section.
