GE Task Force Discussion
GE/CLA represented by Josh Machamer, Denise Isom, Brenda Helmbrecht
Criteria for GE Task Force
- GE teaching experience, GE envisioning from other universities
- Student representatives were nominated from colleges
- There will be collaboration with GEGB/Task Force several times
- Open forums will be held on campus - for campus input
- What is the role of program review?
This will be feeding the committee with information.
Specific issues should be brought up by GEGB. - GEGB will be working on program review issues.
- Brenda will meet with Gregg and Andrew, Chairs.
- Matt- should reach out to students on GE Task Force.
- Why did the email not go out to students? Not for the invite/or list
- Suggestion to send email to entire student body - follow up with Delores.
- Need to clarify relationship with GEGB/GE Task Force.
- This is Phase II - Self Study - Action Plan.
Goals for GEGB - next two years
- Add - SLOs should be addressed
- Add - Area F review
How do we want to address these issues?
- Sub-committee structure to address issues in draft plan
- ASCC should be involved in Pop-Up courses for GE/Special Topics already streamlined
- GE web site - more student information on web site./sub-committee on the value of GE/Katie volunteered to work with students on this
- Want to make sure that GE Task Force and GEGB work together; assign duties, process, procedures
- How can GE work with majors better?
- Does the campus know what the GEGB does?
